چکیده

Peak detection is a basic data analysis problem which isessential in a large number of applications. In applications such asimage processing, the large computational effort to locate peaks mayprohibit operation in real-time. A Hopfield neural network is proposedfor the peak detector to solve the real-time problem. Analytical expres-sions are derivedfor input separation, neuron gain, and restrictions oninitial conditions. Hardware limitations are discussed and a modifiedcircuit model is suggested for the Hopfield neuron. Solution time underthirty microseconds is obtainable with general purpose operationalamplifiers independent of the number of inputs. Results obtained from atwenty-five neuron hardware implementation of the network lend cre-dence to the theoretical results.

The Wavelet Transform-Domain LMS Adaptive Filter Algorithm with Variable Step-Size

The wavelet transform-domain least-mean square (WTDLMS) algorithm uses the self-orthogonalizing technique to improve the convergence performance of LMS. In WTDLMS algorithm, the trade-off between the steady-state error and the convergence rate is obtained by the fixed step-size. In this paper, the WTDLMS adaptive algorithm with variable step-size (VSS) is established. The step-size in each subf...

Delay Spoofing Reduction in GPS Navigation System based on Time and Transform Domain Adaptive Filtering

Due to widespread use of Global Positioning System (GPS) in different applications, the issue of GPS signal interference cancelation is becoming an increasing concern. One of the most important intentional interferences is spoofing signals. An effective interference (delay spoof) reduction method based on adaptive filtering is developed in this paper. The principle of method is using adaptive f...

Performance Analysis of Acoustic Echo Cancellation Techniques

Mainly, the adaptive filters are implemented in time domain which works efficiently in most of the applications. But in many applications the impulse response becomes too large, which increases the complexity of the adaptive filter beyond a level where it can no longer be implemented efficiently in time domain. An example of where this can happen would be acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) applic...

Mean-Square Performance of Adaptive Filter Algorithms in Nonstationary Environments

Employing a recently introduced unified adaptive filter theory, we show how the performance of a large number of important adaptive filter algorithms can be predicted within a general framework in nonstationary environment. This approach is based on energy conservation arguments and does not need to assume a Gaussian or white distribution for the regressors. This general performance analysis ca...
